Het landschappelijk systeem als leidraad voor stedelijke ontwikkeling<\/em><\/h3>\n

Utrecht wordt anders! De stad wordt groener en kent een stevige verstedelijkingsopgave. Fietsers en voetgangers krijgen ruim baan, straten krijgen een andere functie en pleinen worden weer echt groene ontmoetingsplekken. Locatie Station Krommerijn gaat nog een stap verder! Dit hypothetische station ligt op de A27 bij Lunetten en de Koningsweg en wordt wat ons betreft een poort naar het landschap.<\/p>\n

Station Krommerijn is een pamflet voor een nieuwe, maar noodzakelijke aanpak: het landschappelijk systeem geeft richting aan de inrichting van het gebied, de verstelijking volgt hierop. De basis van dit systeem is de Kromme Rijn. Dit landschap legt verbanden met het buitengebied en de binnenstad, verbanden in de tijd \u2013 de historische waterlinie \u2013 en verbindt de mens weer met de natuur.<\/p>\n

Station Krommerijn is de gezamenlijke uitkomst van meerdere sessies binnen het programma Wat als? \/ Wat nu! met een breed scala aan professionals en\u00a0 stakeholders, onder leiding van een landschapsarchitect en twee stedenbouwkundigen. In dit toekomstbeeld laten we zien op welke wijze het landschappelijk systeem<\/span> vorm geeft aan de verstedelijking.<\/p>\n

Bundeling <\/strong>infrastructuur<\/em><\/h2>\n

Het gebied is vanwege een spaghetti van infrastructurele lijnen, versnipperd in monofunctionele eilanden zonder kwaliteit. Door infrastructuur slim te bundelen wordt het gebied \u2018ontdriehoekt\u2019 en ontstaat ruimte voor een aaneengesloten systeem van landschap, de basis van een gezonde stad. Twee spoorlijnen worden gecombineerd en de ontwikkeling wordt gepositioneerd op de bundeling van sporen en snelweg . Station Krommerijn heeft hierin een sleutelpositie. Als verbinder tussen Lunetten en de nieuwe ontwikkeling en als schakel tussen stad en landschap.<\/p>\n

Station als<\/em> natuurpoort<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Op welk intercitystation stap je uit in een fantastisch UNESCO landschap? Dit uitgangspunt is de katalysator van de ontwikkeling. Het station dient als toegangspoort voor het aangrenzende cultuur- en natuurgebied, zodat het station de stad en het landschap verknoopt. Naar het noorden loop of fiets je de stad in, naar het zuiden Amelisweerd en de Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Station Krommerijn is een hub tussen stad en landschap. Op het station zijn stad \u00e9n natuur tegelijk beleefbaar. Een spannend concept dat vraagt om een nieuw icoon voor Utrecht.<\/p>\n

Verander het begrip \u201810-minutenstad\u2019 uit de toekomstvisie RSU 2040 in 10-minutenlandschap. Het gaat om een landschap waarin je binnen tien minuten lopend of met de fiets bent waar je wezen wil. Dat lukt niet met de versnippering die het gebied rond het beoogde station nu nog kenmerkt. Het vraagt om goede en logische verbindingen, een netwerk van routes voor mens \u00e9n dier.<\/p>\n

Landschappelijke<\/em> verstedelijking<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Verstedelijking in het gebied is altijd gerelateerd aan de natuur: De grens tussen stad en landschap is gelaagd en permeabel, de stadsrand wordt \u2018verlengd\u2019 zodat bewoners maximaal profiteren van landschap en natuur. De stad wordt dooraderd met natuurlijke routes en plekken. Rust en reuring liggen pal naast elkaar. Dankzij de ligging bij het station is de auto hier de grote afwezige. De verstedelijkingsopgave sluit aan op de naastgelegen wijk Lunetten en ligt ook in het conceptueel in het verlengde daarvan. Een geslaagd volkshuisvestelijk experiment in een nieuw jasje.<\/p>\n

Lunetten en forten markeren zij de verbindingen naar het buitengebied en de route naar de stad en defini\u00ebren landschappelijke zones met een verschillend karakter. Deze unieke landschappelijke snoeren dienen samen met de historische accessen veel beter herkenbaar zijn. Eventueel door middel van kleinschalige ontwikkeling op de forten, ge\u00efntegreerd in het landschap en recreatieve routes.<\/p>\n

Stroomgebied Kromme Rijn als <\/em>Systeem<\/strong><\/h2>\n

De Kromme Rijn stroomt vanuit het zuidoosten richting het centrum. Station Krommerijn, maar ook de directe omgeving ligt in haar stroomgebied. Dat is breder dan de rivier en vormt nu al een groene wig. Haar stroomgebied is een essenti\u00eble recreatieve en ecologische verbinding tussen het buitengebied en het centrum; een levensader voor de stad!<\/p>\n

Door dit gebied als systeem te benaderen wordt de rivier, maar ook de omgeving leidend bij de stedelijke ontwikkeling. Het stroomgebied is immers de reden van de Limes, de Hollandse Waterlinie en de ligging van Utrecht. Daarmee is dit een vanzelfsprekende basis voor een nieuwe ontwikkeling, waarin de geschiedenis van Utrecht als stad aan de rivier weer zichtbaar wordt.<\/p>\n

Dit hypothetische station ligt op de A27 bij Lunetten en de Koningsweg en wordt wat ons betreft een poort naar het landschap. Station Krommerijn is een pamflet voor een nieuwe, maar noodzakelijke aanpak: het landschappelijk systeem geeft richting aan de inrichting van het gebied, de verstelijking volgt hierop. De basis van dit systeem is de Kromme Rijn.
